Hello and Happy New Year from everybody at Pigsticker bait. My name is Jason Baxter, and the fishing has been outstanding the past six weeks or so. TABLE ROCK LAKE Back in December 20lbs plus sacks on the rock were common with the majority of the fish coming from three to ten foot of water on small jigs, brown and purple, shallow running crank baits in crawdad colors. Docks just off secondary points and channel swing banks with the bigger rock taking the better quality and if there was any wood cover even better. LAKE OF THE OZARKS Lake of the Ozarks was just as good, big fish live there and the were hungry. I'm a jig fisherman and for me this is as good as it gets. Water temps in the high forty's to low fifty's and I was able to catch fish on bluff ends 25 to 30 foot deep on a 1/2oz brown and purple jig with a green pumpkin Paca trailer. Spinner baits and wiggle warts worked good on secondaries and on chunk rock about half way back in the creek arms. TABLE ROCK LAKE January is here and it's JERK BAIT SEASON!! Al and I went fishing the first weekend and I think his exact words were "I have never seen so many fish caught on a jerk bait." We were trying out the new Mcstick by Spro and it is awesome, there is no tuning or adding weight and with the casting system makes for some really long cast's even in the wind. We used both the Table Rock Shad and the Norman Flack to sack fish. Then I showed Al how to deep fish with a 1/2oz white war eagle spoon in deep water. Jerk baits, jigs, and shallow running crank baits are producing good fish in the James river arm on points with wind, but water with a little color is producing better fish. In the White river jerk baits and jigs on scenery's and cannel swings with the deep fish biting spoons and gray grubs 45 to 70 feet half way back to the mouth's off feeder creek's. 01/09/09 - 01/10/09 Saturday 25 degrees and 25-30 mile hour winds and 30 keepers Sunday I took my son, who is 13 years old, fishing. I thought it would be a tougher day of fishing than Saturday with less wind and sunny,, I thought we could find some deep fish and with Dakoda he really likes to see the fish on the graph, keeps him interested. After three hours and one keeper I was looking as if I had no idea how to fish, and wow!! he was letting me have it. We had looked for fish in three or four creek arms and every point from 45 feet to 70 feet with not much luck, so we moved to the main lake, on a pea gravel flat in 70 foot of water.... we started to graph fish. Dakoda and I ended up with 46 keepers with 18 over 4lbs and three 5lbs. We used 1/2ozs war eagle white spoons, gray grub's, ice minnow's and a drop shot worm in brown and purple.I look for the fishing to be great throughout the winter. Bundle up, have fun,and GET YOUR FISH ON!! and make PIGSTICKER BAIT your one stop shop.

Hello everybody, I'm Back!!! I have been away since January 28th and returned last Thurs. from putting power lines back up after the ice storm in
the Boothill area.
Table Rock is on pace to be an outstanding year. The fish that I got this past weekend were fat and healthy. Water temps were in the low to mid
40's and the color was clear to stained in the feeder creeks due to the run off last week. Fish are being caught the best on brown jigs and jerk
baits, 1/4 oz Scrawler jig, brown and purple, Tablerock shad and chrome shad in the McStik's jerk baits. The majority of the bass are coming off
of the secondary with rock in feeder creeks. If you can find water 2-3 degrees warmer than the main lake, and wind blowing directly into the point,
the better the bite, but you will have to cover alot of water. Fish are not everywhere, but you can work on them when you find them, then come
back to them during the day and try them again.
Lake of the Ozarks is fishing really small right now. Cold temps last week and with the ice still in parts of the feeder creeks and cuts I think have
moved the fish towards the main lakes. Water temps were mid to upper 30's, the lake was rising and no generation proved to be a though day on
the water. You can catch a small limit on the 1/2 oz Scrawler jig and your browns and crawdad colors and the same with Baxter jig, the Scrawler
for the deep and the Baxter for shallow fish. Rocky points and bluff ends worked well for me, my biggest fish was a 6 1/2 lbs. that I got on a
McStick jerk bait in a blue bandit color, fished on the same stuff. You will not catch as many on a jerk bait right now but they are definitely bigger.
the key right now is to cover alot of water and I mean alot of water and when you get bit slow down and cover and re-cover that section of bank
because there could be several on that one spot.

Hey everybody, thanks for all the phone calls and e-mails, the last 3-4 weeks have been absolutely AWESOME. I had a 11th place
finish at the Lake of the Ozarks in the BFL and 7th place finish in the Bassmaster Weekend Series.
Fish at the Lake of the Ozarks are on secondaries a third to two thirds of the way back in the bigger feeder creeks. Jerk baits with
solid painted sides on cloudy days, chrome side with a dark back did the job on sunny days. Remember as always fish areas with
wind blowing on them for the best bite. If you are going to the Lake of the Ozarks within the next couple of weeks be sure to take
your camera and you may very well catch a real toad! The weather calls for a warming trend, the fish will be on the banks from half
way to the back of the creeks and into the pockets, Spinner baits, crank baits and small jigs will be on the decks of the heavy hitters
with a few still throwing jerk baits. Spinner baits with gold blades in dirty water, nickel blades for clear, brown craw dad wiggle warts,
the Baxter 5/16 in brown, or brown-purple this jig is my go to bait this time of year and your favorite jerk bait is more than enough to
catch a big sack.
Table Rock is fishing a little differently as do all clear lakes this time of year. 5/16 oz jig and football jigs in 1/2 oz on calm days
backed up with a shaky head. You can also use a jerk bait on trees that top out 10-12 feet below the water surface, or swim a gray
grub through the trees on secondary and channel banks. This week with the water warming up the fish will be moving towards the
banks, always fish the wind with the best being channel banks and secondaries close to deep water. Good luck, fish smart and I will
be at Grand Lake and Table Rock Lake this weekend, and will post another fishing report on Monday, from all of us at Pig-Sticker
Bait Company we appreciate your business, e-mail or call anytime, I'm Jason Baxter, Get Your Fish On, P.S would like to see some
fishing pictures!
